Bossa Tango: From a small piece for beginner
trumpeter, the theme of this Bossa seemed to me
conducive to a more important development for more
seasoned instrumentalists.
A first version for instrumental ensemble was
premiered in Nice during the 2020 classical music
festival of the International Summer Academy of Nice
with Marie-Josèphe Jude on piano. The flexibility and
the scoundrel tone of the cornet have appeared to me
adapted to this movement, especially in the central
tango, swaying and capricious.
Cançao, (song), is a theme that has been hanging in
my head for many years. I was happy to entrust it to
the bugle as I love its nostalgic and a little veiled
timbre. This accompanied melody requires sensitivity,
finesse and a search for a fusion of piano and bugle
timbres.
Balada Tango has a long and eventful
history. Originally designed for a single cello, the
essentially rhythmic formula of the first few bars
quickly evolved, developed and found a first
instrumentation for alto saxophone and piano.
