Born in 1981 in Merksem, Sven Van Calster began studying music at 6 years old at the Academy of Music and Literature communal "Jozef Pauly" in Ekeren. He chose to follow the humanities arts in Antwerp with Bart Van Neyghem for euphonium and Freddy Vander Koelen piano. After obtaining his diploma of arts humanities, Sven Van Calster continued his music studies at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Antwerp. He studied, among others, the euphonium in the class of Frans Violet, the direction of brass and wind bands and brass bands in the class of Dirk Caluwé and arrangement from January Hadermann.
