Jean Luc LEPAGE

Born November 19, 1959 in Virton, a town in southern Belgium, in an area called "The Gaume". This beautiful country is often described as the "Belgian Provence". Jean-Luc Lepage began his musical studies at the age of five years by the piano: he discovered the music theory until much later, at its entrance to I. M. E. P. (Namur - Institute of Music and Pedagogy), then at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He entered the Brussels Conservatory in 1982 and won first prizes in organ, harmony and written practice, and the final certificate of musical analysis. The following year he won top prizes in organ and music theory specialization. Finally, he finished his studies by obtaining a first prize in psychology and music theory development methodology. Professor of music theory in Conservatories and Academies of Charleroi, Gilly, and Ottignies Courcelles, he became director of the Music Academy of Monceau-sur-Sambre (Charleroi) in 1987. He taught for a year music theory at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the IMEP, then the organ improvisation at the Royal Conservatory of Mons. Since 1988 he is the Branch of the Academy of Music in Dinant (birthplace of Adolphe Sax). He performs in concert, and has recently established a duo with saxophonist Boegen Belgian Bruno: "Saxorgue". His book "The Adventures of Saxo" (published by Editions Combre) was created for the saxophone during the year Sax in Dinant, which began June 19, 1994. These six pieces are designed for students of our conservatories and music academies.
