Enrique GRANADOS
Enrique Granados y Campiña (in Catalan Enric) (born July 27, 1867 at Lerida died March 24, 1916, at sea) is a Spanish composer and pianist. Precocious pupil, he studied piano in Barcelona under the direction of Francisco Jurnet and Joan Batista Pujo, who also counted among his pupils Isaac Albeniz. Granados won first prize in piano at the Conservatory of Barcelona in 1883. In 1901, he founded the Academia Granados. Granados dedicated since then to piano teaching and piano performance. He was a teacher, among others, the composer Roberto Gerhard. If he continues his parallel career as a composer, he will not return as such on the front of the stage in 1911, thanks to the first performances of his piano suite Goyescas.
