Charlie mingus1, born Charles Mingus, Jr the 22 April 1922 in Nogales, Arizona, and dead the 5 January 1979 in Cuernavaca (Mexico), is a double bass player, American jazz composer and pianist. He was also known for his anti-racist commitment. He made a major contribution to jazz, both as composer and conductor, but also as an instrumentalist.
