Alexander Konstantinovich Glazunov (Russian: is a post-romantic composer Russian born in St. Petersburg 10 August 1865 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, March 21, 1936He took music lessons with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, to whom he was recommended by Mily Balakirev that he had met at the age of 14 years. At sixteen, he composed his first symphony and his symphonic poem "Razin", before dedicating himself to chamber music with the group Belayev. He made his debut as a conductor in 1888 and leads the Russian symphony concerts. He was appointed professor at the Conservatory of St. Petersburg in 1899, then director from 1905 to 1917. He left Russia for health reasons in 1928 and toured extensively in Europe and the United States before settling in France. In 1929 he directed the recording of the Seasons, the CD reissue reveals his great qualities as a conductor. He wrote such symphonic poems, symphonies, overtures and concertos.
