Duke ELLINGTON
Edward Kennedy Ellington era compositore, pianista e direttore d'orchestra americano di nascita 29 aprile 1899 a Washington, è morto 24 maggio 1974 a New York. Si tratta di una delle figure più importanti del jazz, o musica americana. Infatti, è considerato uno dei compositori più grandi e prolifici del Novecento, che hanno sviluppato nuove idee sinfonia in base all'espressione e l'intonazione del jazz e del blues al jazz e ha lasciato molti di serie. Ellington ha preferito chiamare la sua musica "musica americana", piuttosto che jazz.
