Koos Mark was born August 27, 1944 in Leiden. At age six, he received his first trumpet lessons from his father, himself a notable musician. After studying at the music school in his hometown, Koos Mark will study the trumpet and piano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1958, there also follows the course of composition of the Director, Kees van Baaren, renowned composer.
