Jan Ladislav Dussek (Dusík) is a Czech composer and pianist, born February 12, 1760 at ?áslav (Bohemia) and died March 20, 1812 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (France)The son of a renowned organist, he composed from the age of 13 years a solemn mass, staying successively at the Hague near the Stadtholder, in Hamburg, where he perfected his skills under Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and finally to Paris, he left during the French Revolution and sought refuge in England.
